  • Rehabilitation after Surgery

Periods of inactivity following an operation can severely restrict mobility, circulation and general health.

We aim to aid you in your recovery with helpful advice, exercise programs and physical treatments to encourage proper mobility and repair.

We will assist with (but not limited to):

    • Strengthening exercises

    • Range of motion exercises

    • Gait aid progression (frame, crutches, stick etc)

    • Pain medication advice

    • Swelling management

    • Transfer practice (car, steps, etc)

  • Falls prevention

If you’ve had a fall, or you often feel like you’re at risk of falling, don’t just dismiss it as part of getting older, lack of concentration or clumsiness.

Our physiotherapists can help you with balance and strengthening exercises. We can assess and source equipment such as a walking frame or stick to help you move about more safely. It’s important that any equipment you do use is adjusted to meet your needs and well maintained. For example, a physiotherapist can help make sure that your walking frame is the correct height for you and teach you how to use it safely.

Our treatments aim to reduce the limitations of strength, flexibility and movement often experienced after a fall or injury.

  • neurological conditions

Injuries or illnesses affecting proper brain function impose major restrictions on motor control: limiting the ability to perform what was once considered an everyday task. This can often lead to emotional stress and depression in some.

We understand how important it is for patients, who’ve suffered from stroke, cerebral palsy, spinal trauma, acquired brain injuries (ABI), or cognitive and neurological degeneration, receive quality therapeutic assistance.

We aim to minimise these negative effects and help our patients relearn, or form, new skills through the continual support provided by our caring therapists.

  • musculoskeletal rehabilitation

We can assess and diagnose your condition, then plan and administer treatment programs to restore function to the highest possible level all in the comfort of your own home. Physiotherapists also work in partnership with doctors and other health professionals to ensure the best possible treatment and care.

Physiotherapy is beneficial for conditions such as:

    • Posture and alignment problems

    • Arthritis

    • Sciatica

    • Adolescent and children’s injuries

    • Back and neck pain

    • Headaches

    • Sports injuries

    • Muscle and joint pain

    • Post-operative, acute or chronic injury

  • Cardio-pulmonary Rehabilitation

During your hospital stay and/or as result of your surgery, you can become quite de-conditioned, weak, unstable on your feet, have aches and pains plus feel more tired. This is common and more pronounced the longer you stay in hospital and dependant on the type of surgery you have had.

We will assess your function, listen to your goals and devise a plan using exercises to help you recover from your hospital stay and surgery. Physiotherapists also work in partnership with doctors and other health professionals to ensure the best possible treatment and care.
